En el contexto de la filosofía contemporánea surge lo que se ha llamado filosofía del deseo y nuestro autor figura como uno de sus principales representantes. La cuestión del deseo adquiere realce filosófico con la llegada del psicoanálisis, pues es ahí donde comienza el estudio y distinción de dicho concepto.
