dc.description.abstract	Los pacientes con algún tipo de ostomía han incrementado en las últimas décadas. La correcta construcción y manejo de las mismas puede aportar a una buena evolución del proceso patológico, dando así una mejor calidad de vida a los pacientes. Se ha reportado que la falta de información en el paciente ostomizado y del cuidador primario es una de las principales causas para que se llegue a diversas complicaciones. Metodología. Se aplicó una batería de tres instrumentos dirigidos a la obtención de datos de apoyo de profesionales de la salud para el manejo de la ostomía y dispositivos, conocimientos básicos para el manejo de los mismos y complicaciones relacionadas con el estoma. Resultados. Se evaluaron 8 pacientes portadores de ileostomía y urostomía. Posterior a la intervención educativa por personal de Enfermería se incrementó el nivel de conocimiento. Discusión-Conclusiones. Es importante implementar medidas de intervención educativa considerando las características clínicas de cada paciente y de su cuidador primario.	es_MX

dc.description.abstractEnglish	The incidence of stoma patients has increased in the last decades. The correct construction and management of ostomies can contribute to a positive evolution of the disease process, thus giving a better quality of life for patients. It is reported that the lack of information on the ostomy patient and primary caregiver is one of the main causes of complications. Methods. A battery of three instruments were used to obtain data by support of health care professionals and basic knowledge for the management of the stoma and complications related to the stoma. Results. 8 patients with ileostomy and urostomy were evaluated. After the educative intervention by the nursing staff, the knowledge level of patients increased. Discussion-conclusions. It is important to implement measures of educational intervention considering the clinical characteristics of each patient and his primary caregiver. socioeconomic status , geography , beliefs , type of stoma , it is also appropriate to assess and monitor the state electrolyte and measurement of stool explaining both the patient and his family the importance of checking the characteristics of the same.	-
