dc.description.abstractEl artículo analiza la trayectoria agrícola del espacio abajeño mexicano, en función de la historiografía y las investigaciones que han tenido por objeto explicar las características y estructura agraria de la región, desde su consolidación como granero del virreinato de Nueva España, hasta los procesos de tecnificación y Revolución verde implementados a mediados del siglo XX, los cuales modificaron su paisaje agrario y la composición de su tejido productivo. Además de explicar los cambios en su base agrícola a largo plazo, el trabajo demuestra la integración regional fomentada por los nodos y agrociudades que hacen parte de su geografía económica y han estado sujetos a los mercados, actores y esquemas de organización local y nacional.es_MX

dc.description.abstractEnglishThe article analyzes the agricultural trajectory of the Mexican abajeño area, according to the historiography and re-search aimed at explaining the agrarian characteristics and structure of the region, from its consolidation as the granary of the viceroyalty of New Spain to the processes of technification and the Green Revolution implemented in the mid-20th century, which modified its agrarian landscape and the composition of its productive fabric. In addition to explaining the changes in its long-term agricultural base, the work demonstrates the regional integration fostered by the nodes and agro-cities that are part of its economic geography and have been subject to local and national markets, actors, and organizational schemes.en
